Johnny R. Uhles

Johnny R. Uhles died at the age of 57, March 15, 2003 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Johnny was survived by his wife, Sadye; his son, Darren and wife, Jennifer; and 2 grandsons, Gavin and Seth of Tulsa; and his daughter, Angela and husband, Chris Rochell; and grandson, Christopher of Duncan, OK; and his sister, Jeannette Carter of Tulsa.

Johnny graduated from Will Rogers High School, attended the Tulsa Police Training Academy, Tulsa Junior College, FBI Training Schools, and served in the National Guard. He taught numerous law enforcement classes as a state certified instructor and retired from the Tulsa Police Department after 29 years in 1996. He served as a Patrol Officer, Identification Officer, Homicide Detective and was named Officer of the Year.

After his retirement he worked as a Private Investigator for Jarvis International Intelligence and operated his own detective agency, Investigative Specialists. Until his death he was the Chief Investigator for the Terry Nichols Defense Team. Johnny was a member of FOP Lodge #93, Tulsa Retired Police Officers Association and the Tulsa Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. He was a founder and the Charter President of the Police Sertoma Club. Johnny was the State President of the Oklahoma Private Investigators Association and a recognized Distinguished Expert by the National Forensic Center. Johnny was a dedicated and fearless Police Officer and Investigator who displayed exceptional skill in his life's work. His colleagues and students benefited from his experience and knowledge. He was legendary for his sense of humor and the kindness he bestowed on his friends and strangers alike. Johnny will be greatly missed by all of us who were honored to know him.
