John C. Long
(International Web Master)
Transferred to Heaven I from International

John C. Long (Jr.)

It is with great sorrow we share the news that John Long, our International Webmaster, has passed away. According to his wife Heather, John passed away in the early morning hours on 21 March 2012.

For those of you lucky enough to know John, you know that he was the source of technical knowledge and inspiration that took our organization into the 21st century. This web site is his legacy and he was very proud of his accomplishments. He was a friend and brother to many, formerly of IL 1 Chapter and transferred to the International Honorary membership when he moved to Texas. This is the same disease that took his father in 2007, our then sitting GLRC Secretary John E. (Salty) Long from us several years ago.

As John's health deteriorated, he called upon his friend whom he had worked closely with in the past, to begin to familiarize himself with this web site overall. He ensured the future webmaster had the necessary training and skills to continue with his legacy. John (Jr.) was an individual who paid meticulous attention to details. He was not satisfied to only do half the job, it had to be done correctly always.

He is recognized for his unquestionable loyalty and contributions to the Blue Knights. Everyone knows John as the Webmaster who always had a broad smile. We are all going to miss you sir, you are now with your father in Heaven I...

Ride with Pride!
