Larry J. Wilson, 66, Fairmount, died at 9:47 pm, Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Wesleyan Health Care. He was born in Toone, Tennessee to the late W.B. and the late Louise (Smith) Wilson. He married Linda Lewis on September 26, 1975. She survives.

He currently owned Wilson Polygraph. Larry retired as a detective from the Grant County Sheriff's Department after 20 years of service, being awarded Law Enforcement Officer of the Year in 1981. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Master Sgt. after 26 years. Mr. Wilson formerly served as Jonesboro Deputy Marshall, Grant County Commissioner, DARE Officer for Grant County, Grant County Veterans Affairs officer and was an EMT. He was a 1997 graduate of Baxter School of Lie Detection and also graduated in the 1978 Police Academy in Plainfield, Indiana where he was elected president of the class. Additional memberships include the Royal Order of Jesters, American Legion, Fairmount Masonic Lodge 635 and MIZPAH Shriner. He also was a First Sergeant of Grissom Security Forces.

Funeral Service: at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Lakeview Wesleyan Church, 5316 S. Western Ave., Marion with Pastors Ben Gray, Herb Moehler and Tim McClellan officiating. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery, Marion. A Masonic service will be held at the graveside.

Visitation: will be Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 4-8 PM at Lakeview Wesleyan Church, 5316 S. Western Ave., Marion, IN.
