Jimmy Youst was a member of Blue Knights Chapter II, NJ, until his transfer into Heaven I.  He had joined the Club in late 1978 and was a law enforcement officer with the U.S. Postal Police.  A Jersey City resident, Jim had been sponsored into the Chapter by our former president, Tom Dunne Jr.
Jim fell to his death in a marathon later on that year, just a few hundred yards from the finish line.  His unexpected and untimely demise was a sudden shock to all members as Jimmy was a former U.S. Marine, in top physical condition, and just too young to have left this earth.
In his honor, the Chapter established the Jimmy Youst award presented each year to an outstanding and dedicated member selected for exceptional club service.
